LCU Fund Emergency Rent Grants
If you are a current LCU Scholar for the 2025–2026 academic year, you may be eligible for an LCU Fund Emergency Rent Grant.
These one-time grants of $750 are designed to help scholars facing an unexpected financial hardship that threatens their ability to remain stably housed while completing their degree. Emergency rent grants are intended to address urgent, housing-related disruptions that could interfere with your academic progress, persistence, or graduation.
This support is provided in addition to the housing grant you receive through your school and serves as a resource of last resort when an unforeseen circumstance creates immediate financial strain.
Examples of qualifying situations may include:
Sudden loss of employment or income
Unexpected medical expenses or illness
Domestic violence or family crisis
Fire, flood, or other household emergencies
Theft or damage involving essential belongings
Unanticipated childcare or transportation costs that directly affect housing stability
Emergency grants are intended for short-term, urgent needs and do not replace regular financial aid, tuition support, or ongoing living expenses.
If you are experiencing an unanticipated housing expense that could derail your path to degree completion, we encourage you to complete the brief online application.
